Explore Madiun

Madiun is a city located in East Java, Indonesia, known for its strategic position as a regional center for trade and transportation. Surrounded by mountains and rice fields, the city has a calm atmosphere while still playing an important economic role in the region. 

One of Madiun’s key highlights is its status as a hub for Indonesia’s railway industry. It is home to PT INKA, the country’s only train manufacturing company, which produces trains for both domestic and international use. This industrial presence supports the city's nickname, "Kota Gadis"  an acronym for Perdagangan (Trade), Pendidikan (Education), and Industri (Industry). 

Culturally, Madiun is famous for its local dish pecel madiun, a traditional salad with peanut sauce, and for its rich Javanese heritage. The city also holds historical significance due to events during Indonesia’s early independence era, making it both a culturally and historically interesting destination.
